POSITION SUMMARY: The Shop Technician provides timely completion of repairs and
maintenance to various construction equipment and machinery within the shop at our Buford location, according to established procedures, while maintaining
good working relationships with customers and co-workers.
FLSA STATUS: The U.S. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires employers to
classify their employees as being either exempt or non-exempt for the purpose of being
paid overtime wages. The essential duties of this job are such that the employee is
classified according to the FLSA as a Non-Exempt employee.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Up to 10%

RESPONSIBILITIES: Satisfactorily performing and/or achieving the following

Repair and service machinery for complete customer satisfaction.
Maintain, safely operate, and care for company-owned tools and equipment per
company requirements.
Maintain up to date knowledge of all safety training, product training, and service
department goals.
Complete assigned work with minimum re-work.
Order parts and materials to complete work
assignments.
Ensure all company safety requirements are followed at all times.
Complete all required paperwork and maintain records/photos/other materials as
required, for example, time clocking or collection records, SOC reports.
Maintain shop and yard cleanliness.
Maintain neat, clean, and serviceable uniforms.
Promptly report any unsafe conditions, including those related to tools, the
facility, or employee actions.
Adhere to instruction/direction of supervisor.
Seek formal and informal performance assessments, including performance
versus expectations.
Communicate respectfully and professionally with all customers and colleagues.
Actively participate in required training, development programs, and electives as
suits one’s needs.
Respond positively to other duties that may be assigned in the scope of the job.
EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES/PROFICIENCIES – Satisfactorily achieving and/or
meeting the following Experience, Competencies, and Proficiencies that are essential

Experience and/or Education: Technical school completion in appropriate field.
Computer Skills: The employee can use the equipment and software required
to accomplish the responsibilities of this position. Knowledge of Microsoft
products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Possess ability to communicate with customers and co-workers in a positive and
enthusiastic manner. Maintain an approachable and friendly demeanor.
Knowledge of safe job practices & regulations related to OSHA and MSHA requirements.
Possess aptitude for repairing, trouble shooting, and servicing equipment in
changing environments.
Possess mechanical knowledge of tools and mechanical work for repairing
equipment.
Possess above average knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, diesel engines.
Possess strong attention to detail.
Raise issues and concerns promptly.
Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
Document work in a clear and concise manner.
Proven ability to complete work with energy and enthusiasm.
Customer orientation toward service and building relationships.
Compatible to working branch hours and extended days as needed.
Must possess own set of tools for repairing equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS – Being able to meet the Physical Demands of the job is an
essential duty of the job.
While performing this job, employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The position requires the ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods.
The position requires the ability to kneel, stoop, bend, climb and crawl without
restrictions.
The position requires the continuous use of wrists, hands and/or fingers.
The position requires the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
The position requires the ability to work in varying outdoor/indoor environments
with various terrain.
